The Story of Black Elk Sauce Co.
We wanted to create something unique, honest, and something that shakes up the sauce industry – thus in 2017 Black Elk Sauce was finally created to bring our vision to life for people and their families to enjoy for every season of the year.
The Rocky Mountain Elk is our Brand, representing strength, wisdom, and endurance in what we do. Originated by David Bardin, and over many years of elk hunting in the mountains of Northern Idaho, the sauce was created to provide a satisfying and flavorful meal for all parties after days of hard endurance chasing the “Ghost of the Forest”. The dense covered woods from where the elusive elk emerged was inspiring along with the tremendous feedback from those who witnessed.
“Sharing a tradition and overall feel of experiencing elk camp the best way I can, and taking people there with the flavor that brought so many accolades, has always been a dream of mine. Taking a page out of local crafted brews, Black Elk Sauce Company produces small, handcrafted batches of their seasonal sauces to pair with your entrees and enhance the overall flavor of your unique gatherings.
All of Black Elk sauces are crafted, hot-filled, and hand-poured in specialized, glass-filled vessels – FDA approved, Gluten-Free, and native to the Inland Northwest elk region, located in stunning Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
